The latest version of MobiForms now supports Google Android smartphones and tablets, and includes native Google Android camera and GPS integration. MobiForms was the first rapid application development tool in the world specifically designed for Google Android. The Google Android platform lends itself particularly well to MobiForms because it has an embedded Java Virtual Machine (JVM) called Dalvik. Unlike Windows Mobile a separate JVM is not required.
Alternatively, with the new MobiForms HTML5 option an HTML file is produced which can be saved and served via a web server as an offline HTML5 mobile app.
Up until now developing for Android required in depth professional programming skills with the following items:
MobiForms replaces all of these tools with one simple, intuitive, drag and drop interface. No Java or XML programming is required.
MobiForms now makes it possible for novice or experienced programmers alike to quickly create mobile business application for Android Google smartphones and tablets. Additionally, the same app can be run on other platforms such as Windows Mobile and Apple iPhone.
The MobiForms Native runtime supports the Google Android camera including 1D and 2D bar code reading, GPS integration and JDBC database connectivity to a range industry standard databases including Oracle, SQL Server and MySQL. MobiForms also includes a free copy of the JDBC compliant HSQLDB database engine for off-line mobile database storage.
The MobiForms Native runtime for Google Android is complemented by the MobiForms Sync Server (MSS) to offer a true offline store and forward capability with sophisticated online synchronisation, bi-directional replication and offline data buffering. The MobiForms Sync Server and the MobiForms Developer are offered together in the MobiForms Advanced Edition. For more details click here.
