What is MobiForms?

Rapid Application Development

The MobiForms Developer is a revolutionary rapid application development tool for creating Native or HTML5 mobile apps for just about any wireless platform including Tablet, Pocket PC, Windows CE, Windows Mobile, Windows Phone, Smartphone, Blackberry, Android and Apple iPhone, iPad and iPod. One Complete Toolbox

MobiForms offers all the tools in one "box" for the creation and deployment of any type of mobile application including traditional Native mobile apps and now HTML5 offline apps. MobiForms includes the MobiForms Developer, the MobiForms Deployment Wizard, the MobiForms mobile runtime interpreter and a comprehensive set of manuals.

MobiForms also includes the free open-source HSQLDB database which can be embedded in server or standalone mobile database applications. HSQLDB is the database engine in OpenOffice.org 2.0 and above, and included in millions of desktops around the world. HSQLDB includes a feature that enables CSV files to be used as data sources. Alternatively, MobiForms now supports the creation of offline HTML5 apps exploiting the SQLite database engine embedded as Web SQL in most modern mobile web browsers.

Synchronisation

The MobiForms Advanced Edition includes the MobiForms Developer and the new MobiForms Sync Server. The MobiForms Sync Server (MSS) is a complementary tool to the MobiForms Developer offering a true offline store and forward capability with sophisticated online synchronisation, replication and offline data buffering.

The MSS can replicate data from any central database server running Oracle Server, Oracle Lite, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Access, Sybase SQL Anywhere Server, IBM DB2 Server, SQLite, MySQL and Firebird, over any wireless network, to any mobile device running a traditional Native MobiForms client or HTML5 offline client. Certification

Where remote database access is required MobiForms has been certified to run with Oracle Lite, Personal Oracle, Oracle Server, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Access, Sybase SQL Anywhere, IBM DB2 Server, SQLite, MySQL, Firebird and HSQLDB. HSQLDB can be directly replaced with the HXSQL database.

Oracle, Sybase, SQLite and HSQLDB server certification enables a working server based solution to be achieved first before moving to an equivalent mobile database on a wireless device. Other server and mobile databases will be certified soon.

Alternatively, Native MobiForms mobile clients can read and write to any ASCII file which means you do not need to have a local database installed.

Bar Code Scanning

MobiForms supports Android and Apple camera 1D and 2D bar code reader integration with one simple scan command. This feature is ideal for adding bar code scanning to logistics, field service and consumer mobile apps.
